<p>Typically, more men than women snore, with around one-quarter of males prone to snoring. </p>
<p>Snoring can, in fact, be a symptom of significant sleep disruption with breathing significantly affected, causing a condition known as ‘obstructive sleep apnoea’. </p>
<p>During sleep, the muscles of the soft palate and uvula (the structures found in the back of the throat) are prone to relax and vibrate when the person breathes.
